the decision. Chris was also the only person at 68Kg to defeat Arsen Fadzaev (6x World Champ and 2x Olympic Champ). Chris accomplished this feat twice while Fadzaev was in his prime.
Reg Laroque was a constant factor in wrestling until his death on December 13th, 2007. His death fell on the day before the olympic trials, which only seems fitting. Laroque was arguably the best technical coach in Canadian Wrestling History. Reg founded the Rebels Wrestling Team in Calgary, Alberta. He continued to coach there until late 2007, when cancer finally caught up him. After over 28 years of coaching, Reg Laroque was inducted into the Canadian Amateur Wrestling Hall of Fame in the fall of 2007.
Reg had taken athletes to new heights, including coaching three World Espoir Champions, Alf Wurr, David Hohl, and Chris Wilson, (19 and 20 years of age) all on one team. This feat had never been accomplished by any Canadian Coach. Both David Hohl and Chris Wilson went on to win Gold at the 1994 Commonwealth Games; in addition, Chris Wilson captured Silver at the 1991 World Championships and Bronze at the 1993 World Championships. The one loss in 1993 was on a controversial decision where the match ended 2-1 in favour of Chris and somehow his opponent got
